Mindfulness and Breathwork
Mindfulness Simple, effective and founded in neuro and behavioural science
Mindfulness is so much more than being fully and intentionally present and the ability to shift into a place of calm when you need it.
At the SMILE Project we know it's also about examining and understanding how our bodies and minds signal, react and respond to our ever changing emotional and mental states.
Through the exploration of the concept of 'unconditional welcome', our mindfulness programs;
explore the neuroscience of mindfulness through the what, why and how of the mind, body and environmental connection,
answer the age old question of 'why does my mind wander when I want it to be still?'
introduce simple and effective behavioural science based practices proven to inspire change in the way we go through our days,
practice a range of simple and effective breath work practices designed to introduce feelings of calm or energise us, which ever is needed,
and, because we don't believe in the one-size-fits-all approach, help you create a mindfulness practice that works for you.
Our Mindfulness programs are available as single introductory sessions, but are best enjoyed as multiple or on-going programs.
Breathwork A stand alone, science based look at an ancient practice
Often we hear that we've forgotten how to breath, but have we forgotten? Or were we never taught skills for effective breathing in the first place?
We all know the calming benefit of the deep breath... but...
Have you ever wondered why or how something as simple as a deep breath is so effective?
Do different breathing styles work better that others in different situations?
What is your unconcious breathing style telling you?
So many questions. Happily we've studied the physiology of breathing so you don't have to.
These sessions include a range of proactive and concious breathing techniques designed to help you reduce stress and wind down when you want to relax, and re-energise and motivate you when you need to get things done.
